At TU Dresden, Faculty of Computer Science, Institute of Systems Architecture, the Chair of Systems Engineering (www.inf.tu-dresden.de/sya/se) offers two project positions as
Research Associate (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification, employees are paid according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
from the earliest possible date. Positions are limited until December 31, 2023 with the possibility of extension in the following projects. The duration of employment is governed by § 2 (2) of the law on fixed-term research contracts (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG).
The Systems Engineering Chair conducts research under the EU third-party funded project “IA SPRINT” (www.ai-sprint-project.eu). AI-SPRINT – Artificial Intelligence in Secure PRIvacy-preserving computing continuum – will define a framework for the development of AI applications in the computing continuum, allowing a precise trade-off between performance and accuracy of the AI model, while offering guarantees of security and confidentiality.
Tasks: Independent research in the field of the chair, particularly in the field of cloud computing and confidential computing. In this context, the main areas of research include the development of software components within the framework of the AI-SPRINT project. The development, publication and presentation of scientific publications at national and international conferences as well as journals are expected.
Terms: very good university degree (M.Sc., Dipl.) in computer science; strong skills in distributed systems; ability to work independently and purposefully in a team; an integrative and cooperative personality with excellent communication and social skills; high engagement; fluency in English – written and oral; interest in interdisciplinary cooperation in all areas of computer science as well as with industrial partners. We are looking for a personality with hands-on experiences with various programming languages and concepts.
