Chair (W3) of Biomedical Sensor Technology

to earliest possible date.

You (m/f/x) will represent biomedical sensor technology in teaching and research and focus on several of the following areas:

  • Biomedical sensor technology, its device technology and sensor system technology
  • Sensor materials and biocompatibility
  • Modern methods of biosignal processing
  • Sensor data fusion and AI approaches to process sensor signals and network them into communication networks.

The chair is involved in the basic and advanced courses of the interdisciplinary study program “Biomedical Engineering” to be set up as well as in the subsidiary disciplinary training for other fields of study. You will assume teaching obligations in basic courses on medical technology, for example in “Medical imaging and image processing”, “Autonomous and cooperative systems in biomedical engineering”, “Ventilation engineering or technologies for implants” and will be responsible for the implementation and resources of the associated practical courses. Lectures are held in German, but can be offered in English. Your active participation in academic self-administration is a prerequisite and we expect your willingness to engage in collegial interdisciplinary cooperation. Your duties include establishing an independent research profile for biomedical sensor technology, its implementation in third-party funded projects and publications, furthermore meaningful participation in international publications and conferences at the nationally and internationally, success in raising third-party funds as well as initiating national and international cooperation projects.

We are looking for a dynamic, committed and responsible researcher personality, internationally renowned in the field of biomedical sensor technology and who, with strong motivation and didactic skills – assuming experience in innovative teaching as well as positive evaluations of teaching – can also inspire our students in teaching and, through relevant research experience, help shape the profile of our faculty in a future-oriented way through interdisciplinarity and practical relevance. Applicants must fulfill the professional qualification requirements of § 58 of the Law on the Autonomy of Higher Education Institutions of the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG). Scientific activities outside the university are advantageous.
