The Oct. 22 event is billed as a “win-win-win,” with local businesses and nonprofits teaming up to support everyone.

“Creative collaborations are the new way forward for the United Way of Chatham-Kent,” United Way Acting CEO Patricia Peters said in a statement.

“We are joining forces with businesses in Dresden to have a positive impact on community programs. As we connect, we listen carefully – we want to know what is important to the Dresden community. »

Various community organizations, including the Dresden Foodbank and the Dresden Side Streets Youth Center, are experiencing increased need as Chatham-Kent begins to recover from the pandemic, the statement added.

A portion of the funds raised through the sale of dinner tickets, beverage donations and non-perishable food will go to the cause.

Tickets to the Burns Roast Chicken Dinner are available at McKellar’s Flowers and Gifts at 445 St. George St. in Dresden or the Chatham-Kent Nonprofit Center at 425 McNaughton Ave. W. at Chatham.

Tickets are $20 for a large box — three pieces of chicken, potatoes, coleslaw, rolls and dessert — or $12 for a small — two pieces of chicken with no coleslaw.

Lunch box pickup will take place at Maple Mutual Insurance at 29553 St. George St. in Dresden on October 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Team members from Burns Restaurant, Dresden Side Streets Youth Centre, Dresden Foodbank and United Way of Chatham-Kent will be in attendance.
