Holiday Inn Express brand returns to Dresden – Business Traveler

IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with LRO Hospitality to rebrand an existing hotel in Dresden under its Holiday Inn Express brand.

The 306-key hotel is expected to reopen as part of the IHG family within the next four to six months and will undergo a full renovation to be rebranded as Holiday Inn Express Dresden by summer 2024.

The 10-story property will feature a lobby with breakfast area, gym and flexible/shared work space on the first floor.

The hotel group once owned a property in the city center under its Holiday Inn Express brand, but this has since closed.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development Europe at IHG Hotels and Resorts, commented on the news:

“Germany continues to be a key market for IHG, and we are delighted to partner with LRO Hospitality to strengthen our choice of hotels in the city of Dresden. This particular signature for Holiday Inn Express underscores the relevance of our brands for existing hotel conversions.

IHG already owns three Holiday Inn properties in Dresden: Holiday Inn Dresden – Am Zwinger (144 keys), Holiday Inn Dresden – City South (89 keys) and Hotel Indigo Dresden – Wettiner Platz (132 keys).

The hotel group has a total of 91 hotels in Germany, 79 of which belong to the Holiday Inn brand. The company also has 25 planned hotels in the country.
