(subject to personal qualification, employees are paid according to salary group E 10 TV-L)

The CMCB is a central academic unit of TU Dresden and consists of the institutes BIOTEC (Biotechnological Center), B CUBE (Center for Molecular Bioengineering) and CRTD (Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden). The aim of the CMCB is to create synergies between these institutes in order to further strengthen the program of cutting-edge research and innovative teaching with an international orientation. CMCB’s research groups are supported by central service units, which also act as an intersection with the central administration of TU Dresden. The CMCB’s IT environment is set up and operated jointly with the IT of the “Life Physics” (PoL) Excellence Center.
Tasks: In this position, you will be involved in the design, development and implementation of the configuration as well as the development and operation of modern IT infrastructure, with a focus on integration into the central IT environment of the TU Dresden. You will update and ensure the continuity of the documentation of all systems and provide specific IT support as well as the coordination of the specific IT development of the various work groups and installations as well as independent user support in the event of technical problems. Independent technical advice and support for workgroups and installations in the event of investments in the field of hardware and software; planning, management and implementation of related projects; Close cooperation with the system administrators of the IT team of the CMCB and the ZIH of the TU Dresden is also part of your tasks.
Terms: degree from a higher education institution in an IT-related discipline or comparable knowledge and skills, combined with several years of professional experience in a similar environment. Good to very good knowledge in the following areas: Administration of Linux servers and clients (distributions: Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat); Implementation, operation and management of server services (web server, database server, HP Linux cluster); Installation of software (operating systems and applications) and scripts for automated software distribution; Programming experience in Perl, Shell-Script, PHP; Experience with CMS publishing systems such as TYPO3, WordPress and RDBMS systems (MySQL/MariaDB). You are assertive and good communicator, have a sense of organization and a strong ability to work in a team. You are enthusiastic about new tasks, look for challenges and are ready to quickly familiarize yourself with new missions and projects. You think analytically and are open to new ideas. A confident manner, a goal-oriented and systematic working approach and the ability to convince in personal conversations are part of your personality. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
