Brand of natural, vegan and eco-responsible cosmetics Theology has partnered with BERetail to open a new space at Dresden Airport. Further registrations at other German airports are in progress, the brand owner said.
The brand uses Tea Infusion Skincare technology based on the nutrients in a cup of tea.
Five organic tea infusions feature in a product line that includes best-selling Hyaluronic Infusion Serum, Black Matcha Micellar Jelly Cleanser, Happy Skin – All-in-one Beauty Balm and Tea Glow Exfoliating Lotion.
Teaology products are available throughout Europe and North America, with an annual distribution growth rate of approximately +20%. The brand is represented in travel retail by Travel Retail Experts (TRE) and in flight with Hanse Distribution.
Teaology was founded by former European cosmetics industry professional Cecilia Garofano and her husband Paolo Bevegni in 2015.
With a focus on harnessing the powerful compounds of the Camellia Sinensis tea plant, the pair – in partnership with leading chemists – developed a process that replaces the water content of products with 100% tea infusion.
Only organic teas are used in Teaology products made in Italy and dermatologically and nickel tested to ensure safety and tolerance on all skin types.
Paolo Bevegni, CEO of Teaology, said, “We are proud of what we have achieved in national markets since the company was founded seven years ago. Yet the potential of the Clean Beauty segment in general, and of Teaology in particular, is far from exhausted.
“Travel retail is becoming more and more important in our strategic thinking.”
He highlighted the brand’s partnerships with TRE and Hanse Distribution. “Both companies are very experienced in this complex market and their approach to product presentation and customer service is a perfect match for our brand.”
Lutz Natonek, Travel Retail Experts, Director of Travel Retail, said: “Having seen Teaology’s booth and products at TFWA in Cannes last October, we were immediately totally sold on the brand concept and are delighted to represent Teaology’s excellent portfolio in travel retail.
“We are pleased to report that we have already seen initial success. Our German retail partner BERetail has introduced Teaology in its Dresden store beDUTYfree and supplies Stuttgart Airport as well as several regional airports in Germany with the brand.
“Additionally, Teaology will soon meet at Best Value in Bucharest and discussions with other operators are well advanced.”
Martin Enk-Pieper, Managing Director of BERetail, added: “We have long believed in the Clean Beauty industry. This is why we have – with the Panier des Sens brand – very successfully referenced another cosmetics brand in the sustainability niche.
“Teology is now the perfect complement: the brand positioning, sustainability claim and zeitgeist are just here.
“The first sales figures for our retail and distribution activity are more than encouraging. We look forward to continued cooperation with the Travel Retail Experts, who focus on positioning and distributing the best sustainable brands in the travel retail market.
