Three municipal offices remain closed due to COVID-19, including Dresden

Municipal Service Centers in Ridgetown, Tilbury and Dresden will remain closed until Wednesday, January 26 due to high employee numbers under COVID-19 protocols.

The centers were closed on January 12 for a minimum of five days, according to city officials.

The Chatham and Dresden Service Ontario offices will remain open by appointment only.

“The high transmissibility of the Omicron variant leads to staffing issues across the workforce and Chatham-Kent is no exception,” Cathy Hoffman, chief executive and chief human resources officer, said in a statement. Press.

“We are monitoring the situation closely on a daily basis and deploying our workforce to maximize the safety of our employees and services to the community.”

Hoffman said 101 employees are currently under COVID-19 protocols, 21 of whom are working from home.

Citizens may experience delays in wait times for telephone inquiries during this downsizing period.

Where possible, citizens are encouraged to use municipal digital service offerings that include:

– Dog Tag license renewals can be paid through the Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) website and are due before March 31.

– Interim property tax payments can be made at and are due by March 1st.
